Be thankful...

Hello young world!
I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday! I didn't get a chance to shop like I would have liked to but it's ok.  You should have seen me almost in tears erasing all of the sales emails on my phone...*deep sigh* I'm exercising self control...I think... *sobs!*
I had the great opportunity to participate in the Hosea Feed the Hungry.  I had tons of fun with my co-workers.  Aside from that I learned a valuable lesson about Humility.  I guess I'll leave it at that...
I also had a great time with my fam.  We called ourselves playing the Life game but that was a fail.  We hadn't played it in so long! Plus, they changed up the rules to playing the game.  It's too complicated so we gave up... Oh well here are some pics:

In a perfect world...

Hello young world!
I was inspired by Amelia of Sound Bites: The Ramblings of Amelia Pontes to write this post.  I'm really a big dreamer and I thought this was a great opportunity to dream on purpose.  Being a real grown up can make you forget about how to dream.  Remember when you had an imagination?  *deep sigh* Those were the days...

Here goes...

In a Perfect World...
1.  Chivalry would be the norm
2.  I would have a husband and 5 little boys that love me dearly
3.  I would have moved to New York City right after I graduated high school
4.  There would be no such thing as disappointment... Only lessons learned...
5.  Love would be taken seriously
6.  The cure to a broken heart would be Reese Cups and Destiny Fullfilled cd
7.  The work day would not start until 11am (I'm sooo not a morning person)
8.  Naps would be required
9.  My grandparents will live forever!
10.  I would be as strong as my mommy
11.  Humility would get you further than arrogance
12.  It would be ok to be 26 and watch shows like the Backyardigans, Curious George, etc...
13.  Trust would exist
14.  It would not have taken 21 years to appreciate my beauty and 24 years to appreciate my body
15.  Miss Piggy would have her own fashion blog
16. My uncle would still be here and instead of writing this post I would be out with him celebrating his 42nd birthday....

***Make sure you go back and read Amelia's Post on her blog! Click Here**

Happy 42nd Birthday Alonzo! I love you and miss you dearly! <3<3<3

Like a Boy

Hello young world!
I initially wore this outfit to work but I had on jeans and sneakers. I realized that everything (except for the jeans) was men's clothing. Later that day I went to Kiku's (a Japanese restaurant here in Atlanta) and I decided to switch it up a little. I was going to put on heels but I didn't feel like being bothered with them.  That's really sad because I have a closet full of them but I'm just really unmotivated to wear them.  I'm going to get it together... Anyway, here's the look...

Outfit Specs:
Cardigan: H&M//Button-up shirt: Goodwill// Leggings: Ashley Stewart//Shoes: Steve Madden//Clutch: Thrifted//Bangle: Forever 21//Ring: Dorothy Perkins

As you can see from the pic, I took that hair out... I'm not quite sure what went wrong but I think I murdered that hair! It was a mess after I co-washed it.  That's what I get for watching youtube thinking I can be a hair guru.  I will buy the hair again though.  Next time I'm going to not be cheap and go to the salon and get it washed... Lesson learned...

As always, Thanks for reading! :-)

STRIPES!!!

Hello Young World!
I finally had the chance to wear my stripe blazer the other day.  I just paired it with some leggings and a tunic (it was meant to be a dress) from H&M and by thigh high boots from Forever 21 that I bought last year.

Dont judge me!! My best friend and I were in Home Depot looking for firewood for his fireplace.  I gotta get pictures when I can!

That's it for now! Toodles!

Breaking Rules...Again

Hello young world!
I was on Yahoo's web page yesterday and came across yet another video on how to "flatter your curves".  One of the "rules" was to wear form fitting clothes.  *deep sigh* Now, I'm sure you all can tell that on me there aren't very many curves... I'm just fat! LOL! [I'm ok with it so you can breathe now...people always get nervous when I call myself fat. It's quite amusing... hehehehehe] But I personally, like wearing some over sized pieces just because they are comfortable to wear.  I'm not necessarily trying to hide anything.  I just like the shirt!
Anyway, I bought this stripe shirt from a thrift store for $2.50.  It's really big but I loved it.  I've been looking for some things with vertical stripes since I saw Rihanna's "What's My Name" video.  I really wish I could find a blazer with vertical stripes but this will due until then.

Girls Night Out

Hello Young World!
This weekend my girls got the chance to hang out. It was pretty cool even though all of them couldn't get together both days.  Friday we got together and went "lounge-hopping".  We first went to Mood Lounge.  Ummmm.... other than the fact that we were the only people there it was pretty cool.  Plus, thanks to ScoutMob, we got 50% off of our tickets.  After that we went to 255 Tapas on Peters Street.  I loooove that place! The drinks are great and the food even better!  I know one of the owners of that lounge so we were able to get 50% off there too! Sweeeet! :-)

Anyway, here's what I wore:

Outfit Specs:
Leather Jacket: Macy's//Top: Bloomingdale's Outlet//Leggings: Ashley Stewart// Shoes: Unica// Bracelet: Target//Ring: Dorothy Perkins

I have a better picture of the top.  I bought it the last time I went to Miami from the Bloomingdales Outlet at Sawgrass Mills.  I will definitely be going back to those outlets.  I know next time I'm going to need at least $1000 and an extra suitcase.

PA211036

There are metalic embellishments on the shoulders. Soooo cool! And it was orginally like $60 but I bought it for $20.  Sweeeeeet...

More pics...

Cheers to the weekend!

Ok folks...thanks for reading! :-)
PS: The hair is holding up pretty well!! It shed a little but nothing out of the ordinary.  Also next time I will add another bundle so that it can be a little fuller.  Other than that I looooovve this hair! :-)

Seeing Spots

Hello Young World!
Yesterday I helped my good friend designer Theary Sim with the selection of the models for the talent booking division of her company.  It was really nice seeing and meeting all of the aspiring plus models.  Atlanta really has some hidden plus-size talent and I believe Theary had the opportunity to meet them yesterday. Anyway, I felt like getting kind of fancy for the meeting so this is what I wore:

Please excuse the agony the buttons on this dress was going through.  They were holding on for dear life but it worked out pretty well...

Dress: Dorothy Perkins//Studded Cardigan: Target//Tights: Spanx//Flats: Target//Corsage: Charlotte Russe//Pearls: Body Central

I LOVE this dress!!  However, I'm going to have to get it altered around the chest area because there isn't much "boob room".  I think this fall and winter I'm going to build a lot of looks around polka dots.  I'm kind of obsessed with them right now.
I have new hair that I absolutely LOVE!! (Love is in the air... Can you feel it?)  It's Indian Remi Hair.  No, not the brand Indi-Remi but actually human Indian hair that's been processed.  That's why it's called Remi because it's not virgin.  Anyway, it's 18 inches, which for some weave wearers is pretty short.  I have to work my way up to 24 and 26 inches because I work in retail and hair that long will definitely get on my nerves. The guys I bought the hair from are located here in Atlanta.  They were absolutely AWESOME!! I bought two bundles of the hair for $125.  They also offer virgin indian hair in any length for $125/4oz. bundle.  Here's the website: World Wide Buyers  I'm definitely going to be buying my hair from them from now on.  You can't beat that price!! This remi hair feels better than the virgin hair I bought earlier this year.

Ok people! That's it for now.  I'm waiting on a response from this UK parcel forwarding company so that I can order my stuff from H&M.  I can't wait!!

Thanks for reading!

Margarita

Hello young world!
Today I finally got a chance to wear that perfect men's button up shirt I told you all that I got from Goodwill about a month or so ago.  The only thing I am missing from this outfit is a men's watch (I'm working on finding the perfect one) and my glasses.  I absolutely LOVE this shirt and I think it's probably gonna be in heavy rotation for a while.  I planned on going back to see if I can find any more.

Shirt: Goodwill//Jeans: Ashley Stewart//Flats: Dorothy Perkins//Bracelet: Bakers// Pearl Necklace: Body Central// Earrings: Torrid

I'm not really a make-up person but today while I was in the beauty supply store (searching for new weave) I found two great lip colors.  They are made by NYX and they were only $2!

The one on the left is called Medusa.  It's a really cute purple color.  The one on the right is called Margarita.  That's the color that I had on all day. I mixed it with a MAC Lipglass called Virgin Kiss.

I can't wait to place these next few orders for my fall/winter wardrobe! I'm really trying to have fun with my clothes.  Currently, I'm looking for the perfect trench coat.  I've found a few prospects! Anyway, thanks for reading!! Two Fingaz!

Breaking Rules

Hello Young World!
I bought a few things over the last couple of weeks from Dorothy Perkins.  I was able to catch a few things on clearance and use the extra VIP extra 25% off discount code. A few of the items need alterations but the others worked out pretty well.  Surprisingly, the pants I bought fit pretty well.
Anyway, on to the outfit.  This top is actually a maternity top.  I figured it would work well because it'll hide my belly (nooooo, I'm not preggers! Sorry Ma!).  I paired it with a pair of white jeggings (*gasp!!* After Labor Day??? Yes Bitches!! After Labor Day!! I make my own fashion rules! *drops mic*) and a pair of comfy flats.

[Top, Flats, and Earrings: Dorothy Perkins// White jeggings: I dont know// Bracelet: Forever 21]

Oh yeah!! I "de-weaved" my self for the moment.  I have to let my real hair breathe for a minute but the weave will be back next week!! I love weave! :-)

Thanks for reading!! Tell a friend to tell a friend to come holler at me :-) And don't forget to drop me a line... or two! :-)

Boot Camp

Hello Young World!
This past week or so I've been building my fall wardrobe wish list.  Once I get a chance I will be tackling the photo editing software, Gimp, so that I can create my wish lists.  Anyway, today I was off and this is what I wore to school:

P9271029 P9271027

Denim Shirt: Levi's//Tank: Rainbow//Leggings & Belt: Ashley Stewart//Boots: Palladium//Bangles: Charlotte Russe//Earrings: Goodwill

I looooovvve Palladium shoes! I have four pair now.  They're pretty cool.  People in Atlanta really aren't on them like that.  But I've received alot of compliments on these.  Wait til they see my "Jodeci" Palladium boots! [hehehehehehe]

Thanks for reading as always! Leave me a comment and Puh-Lease follow me! :-) Thanks!

Jewelry Haul

Hello young world!!
Lately I've been buying alot of jewelry (mainly earrings and bracelets).  I have a tone of jewelry but I was getting tired of it so I decided to update it for the moment.  I rarely buy necklaces because I dont like how they get stuck between my breasts.  It's quite annoying.  Along with the fact even though people may be looking at the necklace, I feel like they are looking at my breasts and I get uncomfortable.  Anyway, here's what I bought:

I am sooooo excited about that cuff from Bakers! It's really different and it's not anything I would usually go for.  I'm trying to find ways to step outside of my own box.
I bought some more jewelry but I didn't update my address on PayPal when I bought them so they were sent to the wrong address (FML).  Hopefully the person that stays at my old apartment will have a kind heart and send the stuff back.  But if not I'm SOL... [insert miserable sobs here]
Anyway, as always thanks for reading!
